  According to CNN International, waves are coming in at 800 kilometers per hour. That’s 500 miles per hour, folks.

  The earthquake has been upgraded to 8.8-magnitude.

  holy shit.

  In case people care, my brother (who lives in Chiba) is fine! But it was apparently the first quake he’s ever actually run outside for. Scaaaaaaaary! (His internet stayed connected the whole time. Japan has its priorities amirite?)
